TRUCK OF LOVE

TOTAL Summer Camp is a collaborative effort with a long history.  A small group of 9 volunteers first arrived in the village of Pisinemo in 1987 to run a summer camp for children with few opportunities.  The camp has grown from 70 children to over 200 children in the southernmost part of the Reservation, the poorest and most remote part of the land.  During camp, the children engage in craft and sports activities and food is provided for two full meals each day. Today, Tohono O’odham members work the camp and take leadership roles.  All youth are welcome to participate in the camp.

O'odham MEXICO

The O'odham in Mexico are enrolled members of the Tohono O'odham Tribe living south of the Mexico border
and have a population of 1,400. The homeland of the Tohono O'odham Nation was split in two with the Gadsen Purchase back in 1853.  With very limited resources, opportunities are nearly impossible for the O'odham of Mexico. NAAF donates toys, books, and  "Jolly Friends" to the community of Quitovac for their children during the Christmas season spreading holiday cheer.
