FREE AS A BIRD SKATEPARK
The only skatepark on the Tohono O'odham Nation is in GuVo District.
Free As A Bird Skatepark opened on March 15, 2023, a collaboration between Endure Skate Group, NAAF, and the Tohono O'odham Nation. Dedicated in memory of beloved community member Eli "PK" Lewis, the Skatepark celebrates O'odham himdag, youth, health, and the Sonoran desert. There are five shade ramadas, picnic tables, solar-powered lighting, and multiple murals by local Indigenous artists. A gathering place for generations to come.
